Laura Mason's Sugar Cookies 1 c. unsalted butter or shortening 1/2 tsp. salt 2 c. granulated sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp. nutmeg 1 tsp. baking soda dissolved in 2/3 c. buttermilk Flour - just enough to make the dough stiff enough to roll (about 4 1/2 c.)
Mix in order listed and blend in flour. After rolling dough, sprinkle with granulated sugar and press down with rolling pin. Bake in 400-450 degree oven for 10-12 minutes.
